Frequently Asked Questions

Planning Your Visit

Choosing a veterinarian should feel clear, not confusing. Here are some helpful answers to common inquiries, from booking and parking to our free first exam offer and the types of care we provide.

New Clients

New Clients + Booking

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes! Double Branch Veterinary Hospital is now open and welcoming new clients. Whether your pet is due for routine care or something just feels off, we're here to help you get clear answers and a plan that makes sense.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book online or call us at 352-695-5050. If you're unsure what type of visit your pet needs, calling is usually the best first step so our team can help guide you.

What happens after I book online?

After you begin the booking process, you'll follow the prompts to choose your appointment details. If anything needs clarification, our team may follow up to make sure your pet is scheduled for the right type of visit.

What should I bring to my pet's first visit?

Please bring any previous vaccine records, medication details, medical history, and notes about your pet's symptoms, diet, behavior, or routine. The more we know, the better we can understand the full picture and care for your pet thoughtfully.

New Client Offer

Free First Exam Offer

What is included in the free first exam offer?

The offer includes a complimentary first exam for new clients only, a $75 value. It gives us a chance to meet you and your pet, understand their needs, and help you take the next step in their care. Additional services, testing, vaccines, medications, or treatments are separate. Limit one per household/family.

Who is eligible for the free first exam?

The offer is available to new clients of Double Branch Veterinary Hospital. It is limited to one per household/family and may not be combined with other offers unless otherwise stated.

Can I use the free first exam offer for a sick pet visit?

In many cases, yes — the free first exam may apply to eligible new client visits. If your pet is sick, uncomfortable, or not acting like themselves, please call us first so we can help you choose the right appointment type. Any recommended diagnostics, medications, treatments, or additional services are separate.

Do I still need to pay for vaccines, testing, medications, or treatment?

Yes. The complimentary offer applies to the exam only. Any recommended vaccines, diagnostics, medications, treatments, procedures, or additional services are separate.

What We Offer

Services + Types of Care

What veterinary services do you offer?

We provide care for annual exams, vaccinations, blood and fecal testing, preventions and prescriptions, sick pet visits, urgent medical concerns, dental cleanings, X-rays, surgery services, spay/neuter procedures, and in-clinic or at-home euthanasia and cremation support.

Do you see dogs and cats?

Yes. We provide veterinary care for dogs and cats, including wellness visits, sick visits, dental care, surgery services, and long-term health support.

Do you care for both wellness visits and sick visits?

Yes. We're here for everyday care like annual exams, vaccines, preventions, and dental care, as well as sick visits when your pet isn't feeling like themselves. Our goal is to support your pet's long-term wellbeing, not just solve one issue at a time.

Do you offer dental cleanings?

Yes. We offer pet dental cleanings as part of our veterinary care services. Dental health can affect your pet's comfort and overall wellbeing, so we'll help you understand what your pet needs and what to expect.

Do you offer surgery services?

Yes. We offer surgery services, including spay and neuter procedures. If your pet needs surgery, our team will walk you through the plan, preparation, and follow-up care.

Urgent Care

Sick Pets + Immediate Vet Care

Do you offer urgent care or same-day visits?

We can help with many sick pet and urgent medical concerns when availability allows. If something feels off — vomiting, diarrhea, ear or skin issues, appetite changes, limping, or unusual behavior — call us so we can help you understand the best next step.

When should I call instead of booking online?

Please call if your pet is very sick, uncomfortable, worsening quickly, or you're unsure what type of appointment to choose. A quick call helps us guide you to the right next step.

Are you a 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital?

We only offer emergency services during business hours. If your pet is struggling to breathe, actively seizuring, bleeding heavily, turning blue, unable to stand, or experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please contact the nearest emergency veterinary hospital right away.

What symptoms may need emergency care instead?

For severe breathing trouble, active seizures, major trauma, heavy bleeding, collapse, turning blue, or other life-threatening symptoms, contact a 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital immediately.

Yes. We have convenient on-site parking right outside of our facility and away from any high-traffic streets, so you can get your pet inside without having to navigate a crowded plaza.

Is there space for my pet to walk or explore outside before or after the visit?

Yes! One of the things we love about our location is the outdoor space around the hospital. If your pet needs a few minutes to sniff, potty, or settle before coming inside, there's room to give them a calmer start to the visit.

What makes the visit experience different?

We're building a local, family-owned veterinary experience around clear communication, thoughtful medicine, and care that looks at the full picture, not just the appointment in front of us. Our goal is to help you understand what's happening with your pet and feel confident through every stage of their care.
